Leading Hollywood stars offer new insights into Shakespeare’s great plays in a new OU / Sky Arts series “My Shakespeare”, with Dr Edmund King (English) as academic consultant on the series.

The Open University has joined forces with Sky Arts for a new series of six one-hour programmes uncovering new perspectives on the plays through interviews with actors, historians and directors. The programmes will also uncover some of the extraordinarily rich video and film archives from 20th and 21st century productions of some of Shakespeare’s most well-loved plays.

Presenting the series will be:
Morgan Freeman on The Taming of The Shrew – Monday 22 September 9pm
Kim Cattrall on Anthony & Cleopatra – Monday 29 September 9pm
Joseph Fiennes on Romeo & Juliet – Monday 6 October 9pm
Hugh Bonneville on A Midsummer Night’s Dream – Monday 13 October 9pm
David Harewood on Othello – Monday 20 October 9pm
Christopher Plummer on King Lear – Monday 27 October 9pm

This series is recommended viewing as it was produced with the support of the Arts Faculty and the subject area will enrich and support your programme of study.
