Classical Studies Lecturer wins most outstanding publication award

Dr Aaron Alzola-Romero (Lecturer in Classical Studies) is to be awarded the  2012 Journal of Distance Education Editor’s Award for his article “One Laptop per College Student? Exploring the Links between Access to IT Hardware and Academic Performance in Higher Education e-Learning Programs”.  The JDE Editor’s Award is presented by the editor of the journal to the author(s) of the most outstanding publication or contribution in the Journal of Distance Education during that year of publication. The award recognizes and encourages excellence in scholarship in the field of open and distance education.

Dr Alzola-Romero was the academic behind the Ancient Olympics: Bridging Past and Present which won an Award for OpenCourseWare Excellence at the OpenCourseWare Consortium’s OER12 Conference.
