British Crime Historians Symposium

6-7 September 2012, The Open University, Milton Keynes

The International Centre for Crime, Policing and Justice (based in the History Department) hosts the British Historians of Crime Symposium at Walton Hall on 6-7 September 2012. This bi-annual event is an opportunity for all those who work on the criminal justice history of the British Isles, or on other topics illuminated through criminal justice archives, to present and discuss the latest research in the field. Over 55 papers will be presented, and Manchester University Press will use the conference to launch several books on criminal justice history written by Open University historians. The proceedings include keynote papers from Professors Clive Emsley and Edward Higgs, as well as panels of papers on methodologies and geographies of crime.
