Dr Paula James, Senior Lecturer in Classical Studies, writes on the influence of Greco-Roman figures, motifs and allusions in a piece for the Morning Star.

Dr James’s and Dr Annie Revanhill-Johnnson’s book of essays, Emblems of Hope, which brings the fascinating images of labourin the membership certificates and banners of Trades Union into the light once more, will be published by Anthem in March 2013.
