Rise Early, Be Industrious is the first survey exhibition by British artist Olivia Plender

Characterised as a ‘museum of communication’, four room-sized installations trace a line between a selection of Plender’s past projects, focussing on historical and contemporary forms of communication and education. Her first big survey takes a wry, questioning approach to all manner of educational models, from grassroots groups to major institutions and organisations. Open University initiatives, the BBC’s arts programming, national libraries and Google rank among the models she takes to task.

Visit the MK Gallery website for more information. Her exibition is running 20th April 2012 – 17th June 2012.
